Last week, the Mains’l Solutions team had the opportunity to attend the annual Kentucky Association of Private Providers (KAPP) Conference—and we came away energized, inspired, and grateful for the connections we made along the way.
The KAPP Conference is a special gathering. It brings together providers, leaders, advocates, and partners from across the intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) community, all working toward a shared goal: strengthening services and supports for the people we serve.
For us, it’s more than just an event—it’s a chance to listen, learn, and be part of important conversations shaping the future of our field.
Building Connections That Matter
One of the highlights of the conference was the opportunity to connect face-to-face with so many dedicated professionals. From agency leaders to direct support professionals, every conversation reinforced something we deeply believe at Mains’l Solutions: this work is powered by people who care.
We had the chance to reconnect with long-time partners, meet new organizations, and hear firsthand about the challenges and opportunities providers are navigating today. These conversations are invaluable—they help us better understand how we can continue to support agencies with tools, technology, and services that truly make a difference.
Learning and Sharing Together
The conference is also a hub for learning and collaboration. With sessions focused on innovation, policy, and best practices, KAPP creates space for providers to come together and share ideas that move the field forward. The event emphasizes collaboration and “building tomorrow together,” highlighting the importance of collective progress across communities.
We were especially encouraged by the shared commitment to improving systems, supporting staff, and enhancing outcomes for individuals and families. It’s a reminder that while our organizations may be different, our mission is deeply aligned.
Why This Matters to Us
At Mains’l Solutions, our work centers on supporting agencies that serve people in self-directed and community-based programs. Attending conferences like KAPP helps us stay grounded in what matters most—real-world experiences, evolving needs, and the voices of the people doing the work every day.
It also gives us the opportunity to share what we’ve been building and learning, and to hear feedback that helps us grow. Whether it’s conversations about financial management services, EVV, or operational challenges, these moments help shape how we continue to improve and innovate.
Grateful for the Community
We’re thankful to KAPP for hosting such a meaningful event and for bringing together a community that is committed to making a difference. Events like this remind us that we’re part of something bigger—a network of people working together to create better systems, stronger supports, and more opportunities for those we serve.
To everyone who stopped by to chat with us—thank you. We’re already looking forward to continuing the conversations and building on the connections we made.
Until next time, KAPP!
